Tiger GT Pro: First Ride Impression

After riding the Rally Pro, the next bike I tested was the GT Pro. The GT Pro has a lower seat height compared to the Rally Pro. For vertically challenged riders, there is also the low seat height option available like in the previous XrX version. The GT Pro has 18" rim compared to Rally Pro which is 21".

Another plus side of the GT Pro is that it has electronic suspension and there are four types of settings: Rider, Rider with passenger, Rider with baggage and Rider with passenger with baggage. The settings was set at rider with passenger as I was riding 2 up.

First thing I noticed when I was on the GT Pro was the vibrations. Lots of vibrations can be felt on the bike. Bumps on the roads are easily felt. This could be because of the lower suspension. Rode out of the showroom and was so tempted to turn the bike around to return to the showroom. That was how much vibrations could be felt throughout the bike. Even the passenger was complaining about the vibrations and it made them very uncomfortable on the bike.

There are also a lot more engine heat than the Rally Pro even while wearing the motorcycle pants. Not sure if this is because of the lower suspension but I sure hope that is not the case. I like that Triumph heard the owner's feedback and the GT version comes with the beak unlike the Xr series. Most Xr owners would instantly change to the long beak when they first get their bike.

I love the Triumph word on the tank of the GT than the Rally version. The GT version has the embossed sticker on it which looks very posh. How i wish the Rally version comes with it too but I understand why Triumph chose not to do it for the Rally.

Other than those I listed here, the bike is the same as the Rally Pro. It is a very nice bike to ride and it has enough power for both long distance and city riding. The decision to get either the Rally or GT depends on the usage of the bike and on personal preference. Personally, I would get the Rally Pro even though I will be using it 90% on the road. I prefer the seat height of the Rally and the lack of vibrations felt.

Remember to ride safe, be vigilant and keep the rubber side down
