Are your gloves equipped with the touch screen feature? Able to use your phone with your gloves on? If your answers to both are no, I have a solution to that. There are two methods to do it:
Method 1: To get a conductive thread and sew it onto the fingers of the glove
Method 2: To use aluminium foil or the insides of a chips bag or any bags which has the aluminium on the inside.
Method 1 requires more money and is more time consuming. Another reason is I am lazy unable to find the conductive thread in my area and method 2 has some perks to it so I opted for method 2.
Materials:
Left to right: Scissors (top), double sided tape (bottom), gloves, a bag of chips.
First order of business: finish the bag of chips. This is the perks I mentioned earlier. After that wash the insides and completely dry it.
Turn the bag inside out. This is the part we want.
Next measure the size of the finger on your glove. I will be putting it on the pointer and thumb of both right and left sides of the glove. This is the side of the thumb.
Cut out all the necessary pieces. Put the double sided tape at the front of the packaging (the one with the graphics). Remember we need the foil part for this to work. I use the heavy duty double sided tape but a 3 second glue can also be used.
Final result of the modified gloves. It is a bit harder to use the thumb but that's okay as I won't be using it a lot to do texting. The most I will be using the thumb is to zoom in and out while navigating.
*Update 15/2/19* The more the glove was used, the more the double sided tape kept coming off. There was one point where I didn't even notice that one of the foil came off until I tried using the phone with that finger. I could have redone the foil but was a bit lazy and I am currently using another method which is also free but some of the readers out there might be disgusted.
Everytime I want to use the phone, I will lick the gloves and it works like a charm. It might have been a funny sight for the cars around me seeing me licking my gloves before using the phone. I continue using this method until either I get new gloves with touch screen compatible or I find another solution.
Remember to ride safe, be vigilant and keep the rubber side down
