After last week's container art run ride there were more riders who was interested to join this week's ride. The route for this ride is to go to Kampung Agong for some sight seeing and head over to the Aspen Vision City before heading back to the island via the second bridge for lunch.
The group met at the usual rendezvous point in the island before taking off to the breakfast stop at the mainland.
The plan to the breakfast spot is the same as last week. We are to pull over and regroup at the lay-by after the bridge which thankfully everyone was accounted for. Once everyone was accounted for we proceeded to the same shop for breakfast.
Breakfast is also another rendezvous point for those who decided to join at the last minute before we head off to the first stop of the day: Kampung Agong. Because there are so many of us, we decided to split the sitting at the shop to a few tables as we are still in the partial lockdown phase.
After filling our bellies, we geared up and leave. On the way over I misread the GPS on the phone and instead of keeping left along the coastal route I went over the flyover and took a detour via small villages and towns. Alex decided to follow me on my mini-adventure. There is a saying that the journey is part of the destination. I did enjoy the scenic detour. Because of the detour, we arrived last and the group was wondering what might have happened to us.
There was not enough bike parking lot so some of us had to double park
There was a small entrance fee into Kampung Agong but the place is very serene and peaceful. Once inside you are totally transported to the village life and a sense of peacefulness. There are a lot of nice photo opportunities available all around the area such as a huge "I Love Kg Agong" sign...
...kampung or traditional village house...
... a few huge birds nest for photo opportunity...
...a couple of giant swings...
...a grand piano prop...
...nice relaxing environment...
...a working trishaw...
...some other random photographic decorations...
...and some nice place to sit and rest.
After taking in all the sights, we decided to make a move to the next location: Aspen Vision City. It was a backtrack the way I used to arrive at Kg Agong but a new route for the rest of the group. It was a nice and slow ride through the villages and towns until we reached the expressway and everyone went at their own speed. Since everyone knows where we are headed we decided to regroup there. Some riders opted to go head home instead.
Bikes galore at Aspen Vision City
Since I have been here before last week and some of them are taking advantage of the empty roundabout to practice their cornering skills, I decided to borrow the R1200 GS from another rider for a test ride. There is a Ship campus nearby and decided to take the GS there. It is a
nice short ride to test the bike which handled superbly.
The Vulvan and GS at Ship campus, Batu Kawan
Returning the GS back to its owner, we decided to head back to the island for lunch. This is where we split ways. Those from the mainland and some from the island will be heading back home and the others would follow for lunch before heading back.
Saying our goodbyes to the riders from mainland
The trip through the second bridge was uneventful. We used the dedicated motorcycle lane cause we are law abiding motorist and there are a lot of road blocks set-up.
Mee Udang Ayu
Lunch was wonderful and we emptied 4 jugs of ice tea with a slice of lemon before the food was even served. Yes, we were that thirsty. The food was superb and was a nice place to just sit, chit chat and enjoy lunch before calling it a day.
Home sweet home
Below is a Relive video of the trip and my first attempt of video editing.
Remember to ride safe, be vigilant and keep the rubber side down
