Komine JK-142 Adventure Jacket

Had to take another trip down to Megabike due to a tear of the stitching of my motorcycle pants. The plan was to go down to Megabike, send the pants and get a new one while waiting for the old one to be repaired so I can still go for rides but I ended up with a new jacket instead.

Since I was wearing a larger than normal size, Lai Seng had to do a special order for the pants. The good news is I have first choice of the type of pants from the Komine catalogue and pick which one was compatible with the zip on the jacket. The bad news is I do not know how long it would take for the new pants to arrive due to the Covid-19 virus currently happening (at time of writing).

This is the front and back view of the jacket

Information sheets:

Front, back and the inside of the instruction for the use of the CE protector

The jacket has a zip at the back to attach the neck brace

There are optional protectors to upgrade to for better protection

Pockets:
There are 4 pockets at the front...
...and a very large pocket at the back. Was discussing with the SO what are the purpose of the large back pocket and we came up with an answer. It is meant for the passenger to store drinks and snacks during a long trip

There is a hidden zip on the left side arm. Some say it is for extra ventilation but I personally feel it is an extra pocket to keep small change if going through tolls. What do you guys think? What is the purpose of this and the extra large back pocket? Comment down below

Straps:

There are 4 straps at the waist area so one can tighten or loosen the jacket as they see fit. It is always best to have a jacket which is snug. Adjustable straps are good in case you gain or lose weight. That way you do not have to get a new one

Reflective:

There are only 2 areas with reflection. The front has 3 reflective panels...
...and the back has a reflective strip at the top

Additional features:

There is a zip hidden under the flap at the back of the jacket for the neck protection. Installing the neck protection is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Unzip, attach the neck protection by the zip and you are done. Unfortunately I did not get the neck protection

There is a loop and hook to secure the top flap of the jacket open in case you are riding in a hot and humid climate. I usually don't bother with this and just velcro the top shut to prevent any cold wind from hitting my neck

Here is the Komine logo at the inside of the jacket where if it is genuine, the 'OK' words will appear when you use the camera on the phone. Since the the 'OK' words can be clearly seen, this jacket is genuine

This jacket is in the Air Stream category. The name says it all. It streams a lot of air and it is so refreshing compared to my other 2 jackets

My collection of motorcycle jackets. (L to R): Komine, H-D and RS Taichi

This is how the jacket looks likeon me. Ignore the sweat stains on the pants as I just came back from riding.

Conclusion:

I would prefer the jacket to have more reflective areas. Like the arms should have at least a reflective and the back should be more than just one strip. The best thing about this jacket is how much air it flows. This is by far the 'airest' jacket I owned. The numbers of pockets in front are also a big plus.If you are serious about touring, you can upgrade the armors and get a neck protector. All in all this is what I can say about the jacket.
On a side note, I found this app called Relive which tracks your outdoor activities and makes it into a video. There are a few interesting features in this app. One of them is if any photos or videos taken during the trip, the app will prompt you if you want to add them. This makes it more personalized. It also shows the highest elevation and fastest speed during the trip. The best feature I love about the app this is if halfway through the trip and you accidentally closed the app, it will continue recording when you relaunch it. This is the Relive trip done to Megabike recently.

Remember to ride safe, be vigilant and keep the rubber side down
