Since I had to go to Hot Bikes to try the TCX shoes, my friend decided to tag along. After looking for some with my size, I managed to get the TCX Mood GTX. I love the look of the Roadster 2 but it is a shame that they sold my size a few days ago. Since my friend likes the design of the Roadster 2 and they have it in her size, she tried it on, felt comfortable and now she has finally acquired the last motorcycle protective gear after 5 years of hunting.
The stylish Roadster 2 |
I have to admit the Roadster 2 has a stylish and unique look to it. It comes with toe sliders, has leather for gear shifting, ankle protection, waterproof and most important it is lace-less. I cannot write about how comfy it is but according to the owner the shoes feels very comfortable on the bike but it gets a bit weird when she tried walking around it. Not sure if it is the design or the owner is not used to it.

The toe sliders are replaceable in an event of a low-side type of accident. It is held on by two screws but I am not sure if there are any ready stock. Besides I have no intention finding out anytime soon. As with the Mood GTX, TCX has placed subtle brands around the shoes. The biggest indication would be the TCX logo on the straps and the back of the shoes.
Mentioned earlier in the post the shoes comes with zippers which is good in terms of safety. One does not need to be concerned about the laces coming loose while riding and getting tangled in the chain and causing accident. There are velcro tabs at end of the zip which secures the zip in place when the flap is closed.

This shoes has what the Mood GTX is missing: a reflective strip at the back. Personally there is no such thing as too much reflective strips for safety purposes. It alerts people that there is someone (or something) in front of them.

Even though I did not try on this shoe, I would still recommend it due to the features. It ticks all the right boxes, look great and and stylish.
